There's always been a double standard here regarding replying to posts.

Nobody replies to every question, but they want all of theirs answered.

 And life goes on.

I support the Second Amendment.  I carry a FOID card.

What is the purpose of the second amendment, which you support?

What?  What do you mean, "what is the purpose"?

If you want to follow the Amendment to the nth degree - then its only to form a "Well regulated militia".

I think it's simply a right for an American to own a firearm.

I'm not one of those nuts who thinks the government is out to get me.

TT, you miss it or just don't have an answer?
I'm really anxious to know what you think the second amendment is actually about.

Still waiting..

Hey jog - I have a life outside this little forum.

You should try and get one too.

So sad that you have to call me out to prove something to yourself.

Seriously - get a life.

TT, You Said you support the second amendment.

I just asked what you believe it was put into the constitution for.

But rather than answer, you pretend that my question is indicative of some kinda weakness.

I Really want to understand you better.
So, please, answer the question.

What is the purpose of the second amendment?

I missed that.

You're not tracking with the people who wrote the constitution.
They knew what tyranny was.
They fought against it.
They understood that the government they were forming could eventually change and become oppressive and tyrannical, so, in setting the People up as the sovereign and government to answer to and serve the people, they included the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in order to guarantee the People the right to tools that would help them
Cast off a tyrannical government.

People who have a spare tire aren't crazy paranoids who believe the road is plotting against them.
Just because you have driven for years without having a flat doesn't mean you should ditch the spare.

Good for you.
So you have dished all/any of your, Smoke Detector's, CO detector's, Fire extinguisher, (Because their might be a Fire) Perimeter alarm, Gun, (Someone might break in) Spare tire, (One on your car may get flat), Seat Belts, (May get in a accident), Health Insurance, (may get sick), Gloves, (May get a sticker in your hand), Sunglasses, (Sun may be to bright), Steel toe boots, (something may drop on you foot), etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,
You keep mentioning you have a handgun.
Yet, you have not said that you have gotten rid of that.
So, again, I will Pay Shipping, send it to a FFL  here.

After all, your believe is,
(as you have stated many times)
having one of those things,
means a person is, 'paranoid'.

It could not possibility mean,
any one of those things, 'Protects' you.

No, that's not what I did at all.  I merely pointed out that I have a life outside this little forum.  i told you what I thought of the Second Amendment.

Maybe in the future, you shouldn't wait on me with bated breath to respond to your "precious" questions, hmm?

Hey jog - I'm not sure if you know this or not, but that was 230 years ago...   Ya think things might have changed a little since then?  Maybe just a little?

Just because you have driven for years without having a flat doesn't mean you should ditch the spare.

But on the other hand, those who keep their guns to protect themselves from a "tyrannical US government" are nuts - in my opinion.

Not sure what the hell you're even trying to say mn.  Your post makes no sense to me.

To be clear, I have a gun - not for the sole purpose of protection, but mostly for sport.

I don't live in fear.

Interesting. I have a couple of firearms.
Some, for Defense, the majority for Sport.
Yet it is the SPORT firearms, you and the rest of the 'Gun-Banners' want to take away.
Just the same as, I don't like Golf, you do like Golf.
Yet I say, 'YOU can't Golf, because I say, Golf is NOT a Sport' !
