The bigger picture is the discussion about allowing the federal government to intercede in private contracts between two consenting parties completely to the benefit of one party.

Remember, a loan is a contract to repay money borrow. What Bernie, Pocahontas and the others are saying is the government can simply cancel a contract. That should be an extremely rare occurrence and should have precedent. The Feds have stepped in and made financial institutions alter home loans for example when there was evidence of fraud. But other than the fact all universities accept tuition from students they know have a snowball's chance in hell of getting value from the 'education' they provide, there's no evidence of fraud. It's simply the case that the perception that you need a college education to succeed has 'forced' many families and kids to go into debt with no corresponding job opportunities afterwards.

That's tragic, but I don't see how that's my responsibility to pay for it. That's the socialist mindset of the modern Democratic Party.

I call this plan 'Tuition Reparations'.

What comes to mind for me is, "The right to privacy"

No way did the founders imagine the abilities the computer would be able to circumvent its basic premise.
It goes beyond commerce, way past that point, and who knows where else.
How will we insure that right without abridging other rights, etc?

We need to be able to add/adjust our governing policies as many different new factors are realized, while some might very well be obsolete.
