Well, crap, turn signal hassles

Right indicator out
Right rear signal, nothing
Bulb is good..
Right front flashes short and quick

And I have definitely been in the headlight bucket
But tested the signals after I plugged them in.
The after finishing up.
But, pulled the lamp, and pulled the wires in a bit,, and I didn't test again, but I THINK they were working for a while..

Ohhh, if it's the indicator light, I'll be happy..

A fast flash is common with a light not working.
Try your connectors first.

I don't think those lights being out will make the signals flash fast.
But I've never had one go out, but I've checked the signals with the tank off so same thing.

Uhh, yeah,, same thing,, so,,, the guy who is selling the Clymers didn't respond, and I can't see the wiring diagrams on this kindle..
Sooo, I'm kinda uppa tree,

I'm just gonna Hafta troubleshoot it manually..
And since I was in the headlight bucket, I'm gonna make sure I didn't squish anything, even they light up..
Unless someone says it's not a likely candidate considering the symptoms.

There are only 3 wires inside my headlight bucket , for the headlight . I never saw the sense in running most of the wires into and bucket just to run them back out again. I got rid of all those connectors ,(and extra wire) and hard wired everything. The headlight bucket isn't sealed  ,moisture (rain) can easily enter due to the gap between the bulb and chrome mounting ring and you have vibration from the forks,  not the greatest place for all those connectors.

If it has an electronic flasher, it wont. If it has an old school, resistance flasher, it will.

Eegore, it's a 2002.
And I would seriously appreciate it.
I've found the problem.
A screw that holds the signal assembly was a little long and not identical to the other side. The wires were oriented differently and one got the insulation just barely opened up, and it shorted to ground. Quite the affair going through everything to get it pinned down, but I got it located. I am planning on going into the tensioner and clutch, so yes, an actual manual is something I do need.
As for the adventures of Summer, I'm doing all this to prepare for a long trip, which, if it comes off as planned, will include fishing and camping.

Ahh Frikken HAAH! Yesterday I noticed a washer in the floor. Wundered,
Whernafukk did that come from?

Today, it seems obvious.
The screw that holds the right front signal assembly together is too long, obviously not what the factory installed.
So, the grinder shortened it some, and with the washer, it's looking good. Got more to do to protect the band aid I slapped on it, but I'm thinking I've found the problem, fixed the damage and I'm almost ready to put it all together.
