Can someone tell me torque specs on bottom fork bo

Decided to tackle it myself. Getting that bolt out indicated threads were not healthy. Once cleaned up, visual shows a little distortion, but it went in with just fingertips. Now I need to put it in for keeps. I'm not wanting to just wing it. I didn't get a clue about it pulling it.
Torque specs would be greatly appreciated.
Ahh, title cut off.
The bottom bolt that points up..
The oil was gray with worn crap..
Rinsed parts with diesel.
If that's not cool, now would be a great time to rinse it with something else.
Thanks guys.

Washing parts with diesel is ok but you need to wash the diesel away too as it will degrade your fork oil. Brake clean works best. Torque ? What size is the bolt ?

Well, it takes an eight millimeter allen wrench. And that's all I know.
But, Reelthing called and his Clymers says 18 to 26.
I guess I'll pull it apart again and hose it out. I already torqued the bottom piece in. Just came in from the shop. Heck, I can hose it even with that in there. I have Berrymans, it dissipates well.
That cool with you?

If you didn't use new copper washers, you might want to anneal the old ones if you didn't dump oil in them yet.  That should help prevent minor leakage you might get overtime.  That said, I annealed mine last time they were apart and one leaked a little after a few years.

Yes, Dave, I have. I should have known, considering the work that the smart guys here have done, that such would be conveniently located. Dangitt Me!

Is there a place to look to see exactly how much oil to put in?
I got
Dexron/Merc fluid, not synthetic, because I couldn't find just plain Dexron.
Gonna be okay?

441 ml /14.9 oz

But, if you collapse the tube into the slider with the spring installed, you can fill to about an inch bellow the top.  you might need to cycle it a couple of times to get the air out.

Do that after I slip it in the clamps? Will it make a mess? I was planning on filling it after I got it on the bike.
Blasted learning curves anyway.
Aww, that is dumb , again.6
I'm gonna say
Get it assembled, everything in, install, lift the slider, add, cycle to get the air out.
?

Another sudden understanding
Lift the slider, that collapses the suspension, and leaving the inch gives it an air gap, so a pothole doesn't blow something up.

Off the bike, tube and slider in hand.
release tube, gravity takes effect.
fill with oil maybe half way, lift tube, push down.
more oil, lift tube, push down
fill to top, lift tube, install in tree.

no mess if you don't drop it.

The easiest way I've found to get the caps back on,  is to unscrew the caps  (with no spring pressure applied) and mark where the fine threats disengage ,both the cap and the tube.  replace the spring and compress the cap turning it ccw slightly,  then  cw to align the marks and start the threads. (don't mix the caps after marking -a dot with a fine tip marker works for me).
