No, not at all Eegore. Antifa stands for "Anti-Fascism". The core idea within that movement is about taking a stand against fascism.

White supremacists' motivations are based solely on race - and how whites are superior.

Two completely different things.

Antifa is anti-fascism, but pro-violence by looking at historical activity from the group. Just as any White Supremacy group can claim they are non-violent, Antifa can claim the same.

That's also not entirely true. Take a look at this link:

I for one am just in support of non-violent, low impact expression. I may agree with anti-fascist philosophy but I won't support a group that assaults others or damages property to express the message.

That's pretty much what I've said form the start. The ideology of antifa is what I've always agreed with. Not the violence. But that doesn't fit the narrative of some of the folks on here.

I should have clarified I meant recent Antifa activity in the US.

Antifa was rather dormant in US culture for decades so the recent attention is primarily focused on the violence, which has increased drastically. To me it's like saying I support PETA's ideals of treating animals ethically, yet not supporting the break-ins and vandalism.

I use the domestic terrorism report from the Government Accountability Office as a primary resource and cross-reference with the FBI DI report and 6 others.

I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the claim that there's a heightened risk of violence with an antifa presence (in recent times).

What I'm defending is the core value of the movement - anti-fascism.

Never have I condoned any violence - unless it's used in self defense.

I'm not sure how anyone can argue with what antifa stands for.
