This is normal for Trump, and people with similar character traits.

 Why would anyone, especially his supporters even care by now?

 Reminds me of when Obama hot-miked his face to face with Medvedev and said he had more flexibility after his election and the news was all over it.

 I'm not sure why anyone would think a first-term President wouldn't say these things.  The only difference is I would have been surprised if Obama just lied and said "I didn't say that." as its not his personality.

 If Trump said, "I made a mistake, I meant Cook not Apple" I would be surprised as its not his personality.

 Also I'm not sure Trump supporters actually support this type of thing.  I mean I don't know anyone that supports 100% of everything any politician does.
