I think Obama had folks who really brought it into the strategy.
Trump has used it as well.
This is why in one of my replies above I brought up the INTERNET and how laws might need to encroach on our freedoms, to protect, that freedom, through privacy invasions.....
That will be a very tall hurdle, doubly so if folks are willing to surrender it to powers that use fear as a tactic to gain it.....nothing new here, either.

Not true. It hasn't always been this way. Before the likes of ronnie, Carter and Ford went with the Presidential Campaign Fund, and that was pretty much it.

I don't think so. That's not what got her there. Just the opposite did. She didn't have a war chest. She got there with her constituency.
