Brian Kolfage ends Kickstarter campaign

As predicted the Build the Wall donations will be refunded unless one chooses to transfer those funds to the new charity that will be run by Kolfage himself

His "connection in the Whitehouse that guarantees this money will go to Homeland Security for the wall" must have backed out or something like that.

Maybe this new charity will work better than the one he started for Veterans and kept for himself.

"The refund announcement came a day after BuzzFeed News reported that Kolfage pocketed money in a previous GoFundMe campaign intended to help other wounded soldiers. Kolfage raised $16,246 for a veteran mentorship program, but BuzzFeed News reports that after collecting the funds, he didn't use the money as promised: none of the partners he claimed to have worked with — including Walter Reed, Brooke Army Medical Center and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany — have any records that Kolfage worked with their patients or donated money, according to representatives at the centers that BuzzFeed News spoke to."

Yeah, many people saw this coming.  Kickstarter to private contract, been done before and from this guy it was easy to see coming.

what it says is that America doesn't want a wall, or at least doesn't want to pay for a wall.

It says at least 20 million can be raised by private citizens that do want a wall.

Also the person in charge is documented as being fraudulent in past charities and as such isn't an ideal source of such funding leadership.

Your second paragraph was my original indicator that this was not going to work/go anywhere.

20 million is a brick, it wouldn't even pay for the maintenance of the wall for a month

Besides the 5.7 billion is to start the wall. What will the final cost be?

 1,279 miles remain unfenced.

Estimated cost is 23 million per mile on flat accessible land.  Otay has been estimated by US Army core of Engineers to be just over double that per mile.  Jacumba will be about 3 times in cost per square foot as it will require blasting, construction infrastructure, cranes and mid to heavy mining equipment to get through the rock and desolate areas.

Areas with transit waterways will require grating an deep drill posts plus a method to clean the grating as it clogs, I haven't seen a cost assessment on that type of setup.
