Versy, MM, let me know status. I think I may need to order a new front tire before this trip.

OK , should I plan to get there Sunday evening ?

Re prased ....  You going to arrive Sunday morning or afternoon ?

😕

I would plan to get there in the afternoon... providing there's no hitchhikers.

I've done this with a bald tire once, and it's a bit nerve racking.
I usually only ride in the rain once, maybe twice a year.
If you need to get one, you'd better have one.  As it might rain at least one day and even if it doesn't, we're likely to ford a stream or two.

I just gave the tire a good look and checked the mileage on it. It should be good for another 2 to 3 thousand miles. I will have to say that I think tires wear faster here in eastern and central Texas because of the extreme heat.

Wow, to plan to go or not is iffy for me.
Downstairs bathroom tub/shower will be torn out and replaced with a walk-in shower about that time for the Sisters.  May not know the exact start/finish date until a week before.  It all has to be complete before Paula’s knee replacement on Apr. 29 as she won’t be able to go upstairs to the shower there for weeks afterward.
I would love to get a ride in before all that happens.
For now I am keeping my name on the list until I know more precisely.
Y’all pray they get-r-done really early in April.
Thanks

I just want to know. Are you getting Paula upgraded knees or just an oem equivalent replacement?!?

She is in my prayers.

With 2 out of 4 being iffy, I think this year is a nogo.

I'm sure that with saying this everything will turn around and work out 100% for all.

So what's the next event?

I was just gonna say I got my time off approved, but yes, it is contingent on nothing unexpected coming up with the building. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to see if I can meet up with Neil one of these weekends and hopefully make it a 3 or 4 day weekend.

OK, what's the next event?

What dates are not working for the Texas event....and what dates would work for doing something else (or would different dates make the Texas ride work)?

MM wants to do the full length of the Blue Ridge Parkway - that needs to come a bit later in the year as it can be cold and nasty in the mountainous portions.  Traffic would be less of a problem if it is done while school is still in session, and the touristy areas need to be ridden on weekdays.  We could gather on the south end on a Sunday, ride north on Mon/Tues....then turn around and ride back on Thur/Fri.  The night time temperatures don't get into the 50's in the Virginia mountains until late May/early June.

We have talked about looking around in Arkansas (Pig Trail).  I don't know how fast that part of the country gets warm and reliably dry.

I am open to any kind of last minute event in the TN/NC/GA area around Robbinsville/Franklin/etc.  If the perfect riding weather shows up and somebody want to go with just a few days notice......I most likely could go as long as I don't have a City Council or Planning meeting (1st and 2nd Tuesdays).  The Two Wheel in is open year round, has a nice garage for the bikes, and even if it does get a bit colder at night we could still go if the daytime temps are bearable.

I would like to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and I also am interested in Arkansas rides. I just cannot commit until this building we are putting up is finished and we are moved in and operational. It could be another 3 months before that happens. That being said I will monitor the site to see if you all plan anything prior to July and if at the last minute I can join up with you guys I will.

No worries.  You got to do what needs done.

Guess I am just going to have to eat the deposit on those custom leather jackets and Shoei helmets with the cool artwork that was the surprise for this year.  Roll Eyes

Anybody who wants to come around these parts and follow me as I wander around the hills is welcome to do so at any time.  I'm out there just about every Saturday and Sunday and can make plans for a long weekend if given some notice.  Cool

If you want to try to target another date for a mass sabbatical here, that would be nice!  Smiley

As far as any other events go.. ya'll get out there and have fun!!!!

The Arkansas night time temps look to be tolerable in the last half of April....and it appears to be dryish!
