Bike won't accelerate past 30mph

So, I finally got the new clutch plates and spacer in, changed the oil and filters, charged my battery and brought her home. She starts with no issues. Many of you will remember that I had water in my crank case a while back.
Anyway, I had a knocking I never quite isolated so I didn't really ever ride it.
A couple of wks ago I attempted a short ride across town. The bike would not go above 25mph uphill, 30mph on a flat.

Could it be my cam chain tensioner? I bought one offline and installed it?
Any suggestions?

Do you still have the knocking? Is your cam timing correct? What is the status of the carb and exhaust? How much compression do you have?

That happened to me once.  Someone (me) didn't seat the diaphragm correctly after working on it. Bike would hardly go 20 mph!

The black coating on the slide  was worn when I got the bike.  Before it got bad, it tricked me into jetting for a flat spot in the mid range.  Then it stuck a couple of times while riding at higher speeds and briefly lost power. That's when I knew what the flat spot was!  A new slide did the trick.

Sorry for the delay.

I didn't hear the knocking at all as I was riding.

I just remembered that as I was listening to the engine, someone pointed out that the hose connecting my carburetor to my airbag wasn't properly seated. I'm wondering if that could be the issue?

Your bike seems to have some unique features.

Airbag =air box?   Yes ,any air in  leakage would lean out the fuel mix. It could well be your problem.
