"You aren't in investor meetings, you aren't at the bargaining table to negotiate....  and even so, you're blaming a burned patient or someone who potentially got an infection from a dirty blanket... "

On the contrary I have been at shareholder, board and national level meetings for healthcare.  I have assisted with 3 major health regulatory  commissions in Colorado and with the VA as well as multiple city ordinance implementations in my hometown regarding public safety but you have a point, even at that I don't have major influence over national policy.

I as an American citizen who gets involved instead of complaining am a lawmaker.

I have mentioned here in the past that I with a small group of associates where I live have successfully organized and recalled elected officials and had them removed from office for creating policy contrary to their majority constituents wishes.

I did misstate the issue with the "burned" patient.  It was alleged and with no evidence the case never went to court.  The blame doesn't lay with the patient entirely, the lack of creativity or cost-effective strategy by administration is partly to blame, as are the people who attempt to profit from deep-pocket lawsuit attempts.

There's this idea that defensive medicine costs less in the long-run, which is true in some cases, and is why I have always said legal reform is the first step to mitigating high healthcare costs, then medical reform can have a chance.

I apologize, I didn't know you were that much part of the problem  Wink

no one is listening to you so what good are you actually doing? whoever is the opinion leader/maker doesn't care.   mainly I think this is because people in those positions have money so they don't actually feel the pain, yeah, it cost them too, but it's a completely different kind of thing to them.

yeah, I'm giving you too hard of a time, but I don't have the means to influence others that might actually make a difference, and you apparently do, so where's the difference?

as far as legal reforms, that goes both ways, how to you hold medical malpractice accountable without the patient being able to sue and actually affect that malpractice practicioner (the person/company/institution actually doing the harm).  and again, you are dealing with INS again, and INS is a scam, it's a business plan based on gambling, not actual costs.  and you know what would help with negotiating that...  a single payer...  maybe?

sorry I gave you kind of a hard time in this post, I wish I could be involved more, but I work in one city and live in another and it's hard as crap actually getting information about who's who for elections, let alone their policies...  you know what, I'll spend some time this weekend and try to figure out how to get in touch with my local city politicians...

idk, everything is complicated...  so I'm saying I could be completely wrong about everything, what the f u c k do I know
