"You protect us. We are always going to protect you. And you just saw that, 'cause you just got one of the biggest pay raises you've ever received, you haven't gotten one in more than 10 years. More than 10 years. And we got you a big one. I got you a big one. I got you a big one. They said ‘You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3 percent. We could make it 2 percent. We could make it 4 percent.’ I said: ‘No. Make it 10 percent. Make it more than 10 percent."
Except it isn't even close, and never was. There was no negotiation for a double digit pay raise.

I have a number of associates at Al Assad, and they were first off surprised about the visit, then surprised to hear about such a large increase, then not at all surprised to hear it wasn't true. The following is two of about 16 examples:
"I'm pretty used to having to keep my nuts together and keeping my COs nuts together for him but to see our CIC not even close to having his nuts together has become normal. We just cant trust the guy"
"I wasn't surprised, I was even chastised for not clapping when he made the statement of this outstanding ten percent wage increase but I knew it was a lie. This guy will say whatever he wants mostly because there is no repercussion which comes with the territory of being in command and assigning whoever you want to keep things in order."
I never saw this as President Trump claiming he secured a 10% raise, but the claim that in the past decade there was no raise is a blatant incorrect statement.
