There are things you are expected to do as president of the United States. You must at least give the appearance of being a statesman. you show respect to the fallen. It's just what you do. Unless you're trump.

Then why do we even have places like Arlington?

From your other posts, I find it odd that you don't see the value of this and other ceremonies.

One of the greatest speeches in human history came from a president honoring the dead.

Trump and his entourage went to Europe precisely for this purpose. So that's a very strange thing to say. He's the head of the most powerful country (currently) and he represents all those who are still laying down their life for the US.
