My goodness, her rambling is almost embarrassing.... Her narrative is not reality, but wants policy based upon it.
I have heard one of the reasons for first time employment, in many sectors, lowering the unemployment rate, is because of the coverage re: Trump and immigration..... I haven't seen any numbers to support more enforcement, under Trump, than what Obama did, so maybe it is perception by those wanting to cross, to work.... I dunno, however, I strongly feel those here legally, and our citizens, deserve the protection first, to have jobs, etc, than these "folks" who Nancy alludes to.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) encouraged people to vote for Democrats in November's midterm elections to give "leverage" to illegal immigrants in the immigration debate.
Pelosi made the remark during a Wednesday press conference in El Paso, Texas, alongside immigration rights activists and Texas Democratic congressional nominee Veronica Escobar.
Pelosi argued that comprehensive immigration reform is impossible under a Republican-controlled Congress.
“We believe that we will have leverage when we win in November. And why that's important?” Pelosi said.
“Because it gives leverage to every family, to every mom who courageously brought her child across the desert to escape, to escape death, rape, gang violence and the rest,” she continued. “Because it gives hope, because of the leverage it gives to families who may have followed -- dad may have gone home for a family funeral and now can’t come into the country. All of those injustices have to be corrected.”
She also said that she believes public sentiment is changing regarding immigration reform, which she described as "inevitable for America."
"And so we’re getting ready for this, and it is only to come back to a place that honors our values, recognizes the importance of immigration to the success of America.
Disingenuous......Pelosi argued that comprehensive immigration reform is impossible under a Republican-controlled Congress.
The democrats enjoyed the luxury of all 3 branches when Obama was elected......and what did you do Nancy?
