Lost; you were around. After TT left, we all made a deal to be more civil and we pretty much kept to it.

Then do it. That was our deal and it held fairly well until EAU showed up and now that you're back regularly, I suspect in a short period of time, we'll be back where we were.

The Tall Table for me has always been fascinating because I never see people like the Leftist that are on here in the real world. As I've said, I travel for work, am in a different city nearly every week and deal with a wide range of people in the manufacturing sector. I run mostly into hard core righties, mainstream conservatives, those who fall under the mildly socially liberal but fiscally conservative. Occasionally, I'll run into a politically active Democrat but that's almost always a woman in an administrative office setting. Where do you people hide all day....

Here is the truth, and it is very Non Politically Correct for me to say, but the old saying "Birds of a feather flock together" is a very good description of humans. That is why I know few liberal atheist and probably why you know few conservative Christians. It is just the way we are hard wired.

A white guy is walking down a city street at night, ahead are 5 black guys standing on the corner, pants below their ass, so the white guy crosses the street because he fears what might happen. In another town a black guy is walking down the street at night and ahead are 5 white guys, bald heads and swastika tattoos so he crosses to the other side of the street because he fears what might happen. Question is are these guys Racist or just cautious? In both scenarios the groups of men may have been the nicest guys in the world. (well, I'm not sure if they would be if they had swastika tattoos... maybe stars and bars...?)

You know it is interesting stuff. Yes I think what draws me here is that I hope I can understand and appreciate other opinions, even if I disagree. The problem in Western Culture though is that we have redefined words. Tolerance does not mean to tolerate, it means to capitulate. Therefore this forum like everything else in our culture these days is about winning, not understanding.

Are there things said out here that make me angry? Yes there are. For the last 10 years I have spent my every vacation traveling the world to help and work with the poorest of the poor, the helpless. I don't tell you this to lift me up, I am telling you this because I have a lot of experience. Americans have NO IDEA how lucky they are to live in this country. And the one thing that will infuriate me is when people put America down. (ps, I am not accusing you personally here) Do we have problems? yes. But this Hate that is going on against this country, in this country, is undeserved. Every country I go to it is the same thing. An oppressive greedy government that dominates the people. The people are all the same, they just want to live and eat and raise their children in safety.

You say you are scared of conservatives? Conservatives are afraid of you! The masses in this country are right where we are supposed to be, divided. Who's fault is it? the right? the left? The truth is it is neither. It's greed, greed of the right, greed of the left, greed of the media. If the PEOPLE do not put this right,left *$*&% aside and start listening instead of talking we as a country and a people are doomed.

I am a Conservative Christian, but I also understand that history has a bad side for Conservative Christians also. Conservatives and Christians have failed on many levels, but we have to stop looking back and pointing fingers. All are guilty even Progressive liberals. For instance over the years the Church has failed on the race issue. Are you aware that in the BIBLE the word race is never used, people are never divided by color, only by cultures. In fact if you believe in the Bible we ALL come from two people which makes ALL of us brothers and sisters no matter what we look like. There ARE NO RACES except human beings. And we need to start acting that way.

Anyway, I ramble.
