Last time GDP hit 4.1% was 2014...

Who was president then?...

This time credit goes to Trump's tax cuts... unfortunately they are also causing the deficit to grow to near 1 trillion...
We don't care about deficits any more,.. right?...

Quote:
The world's biggest economy grew at an annual rate of 4.1 percent in the second quarter, the fastest rate among industrialised nations, the US Commerce Department said.

The figure was roughly in line with the forecasts of analysts, who had expected that US President Donald Trump's massive $1.5-trillion of tax cuts that kicked in at the start of the year would fire up economic activity.

As the figure came in as expected, Wall Street barely moved. The Dow was up less than 0.1 percent in late morning trading, with disappointing earnings dampening sentiment. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both in the red.

"A four-year high GDP reading from the US meant little to the markets on Friday, the number –- much-heralded by Donald Trump -– failing to significantly move the needle as the week wrapped up," said Spreadex analyst Connor Campbell.

"Perhaps investors doubt the sustainability of such a performance, alongside the fact that there are still 2 more readings to come, with those revisions having a tendency to be fairly chunky," he added.

While the strong growth rate was welcome, analysts said investors have plenty to worry about going forward.

"The US economy is likely to come off the boil in the coming quarters, as the boost to growth delivered by the tax cuts begins to wear off, trade restrictions and an overall slowing of the global economy start to weigh on exports, and further interest rate hikes tighten financial conditions," said economist Pablo Shah at the Centre for Economics and Business Research.

So what you're saying is an idiotic, childish, stupid Trump matched the greatest human being  of all time, the one just short  of God; the awe inspiring Obama. Is that what you're saying?!

Even with the revisions this quarter, the ratio of debt to GDP is decreasing drastically – from 105.3% to 103.9% since the election!

It’s clear the amount of debt is decreasing compared to GDP. Obama increased this ratio by 40% while President Trump is decreasing this ratio.  What’s not clear are the “revisions” from the BEA that increase Obama’s numbers while decreasing President Trump’s.

huh? you thought that highly of Obama???  you hid it well...

but I guess the hyperbole you express is sarcasm, whatever makes it easier for you instead of actually dealing with reality

oh, this is an example you PUTTING YOUR OWN vision of a liberal onto Serow, instead of actually addressing him as in individual. do you wonder why it's useless to talk here?

You don't actually address Serow, you just mock him as though he's some crazy liberal who didn't complain enough about Obama for you. Sure, Serow prefers Obama to Trump, but I see nothing to indicate that he praised Obama as a deity.

You're projecting, just cause that's how you see Trump doesn't mean everyone who supports someone is the same as you.

and now you'll do the same to me, as will every other conservative here. why'd I bother?

He may be liberal, but I can guarantee you he doesn't have a god complex about Obama, you put that on him, unfairly, cause you need him to fit in your your vision of what a liberal is...

Do you want me to start assuming you have a white hood in you your closet....?  I mean, have you read what you post???

One of the issues this board is facing is that some seems to think liberal or socialistic people are crazy, gone off the rails, individuals. Or that Trump supporters are mentally challenged. The reality is that neither is wrong and neither require a mental deficiency; people simply have different opinions and priorities.

Personally, I have - since I first joined the internet back in 1996 - always felt that the republicans/right wing supporters are the more aggressive and least tolerant of all motorcyclists. They seem to hold very conservative views with little will to change. That is, when we discuss politics - talking bikes they come through just as amicable as anybody else.

That said, I have noticed that the group I consider to be rather harsh and stubborn feel the same way about the opposition, so chances are it's more about what make sense to us than either side being particularly rigid or militant in the way they communicate.
