Anyone in the Dallas, TX area?

I'm all on my own here. I could use a rider friend, even non Savage. As a kid (cough, 40+ years ago) everybody welcomed everybody - if you had a bike, you automatically had someone to ride with or hang out with or ask questions or work together on repairs or mods, you could have them over to mess around with it, or be told where to go or what to do if you had any questions. Just having a bike instantly put you in the club. Those days seem to be way long gone. And online forums are nice but it's not nearly the same.
Hoping someone reading this is in north Texas.
(BTW, I can't find an option to automatically email me notice of replies, though I see a checkbox I can click while composing)

Thanks! Neat feature. You can add me to Texas.
FYI the following at that post under "Texas" seem to be "ex members"
LostArtist
Capt._Ron
JMAC
and these might not exist at all
BigPoppa
murderbike
KennyG
if I didn't make a mistake looking for those IDs.

A city the size of Dallas has got to have places with "bike nights" .

Hey there TexasThumper. I'm not quite in your area but I am in Texas (Houston). You should join us next time we go to the hill country.

Thanks, springman - we'll see how things go.
By the way, I lived in HOU years back, Westheimer area west of Bush. One memorable moderately crazy thing I would do is go to the horse track there, but not what you think. I would pay a road toll; pay to park; pay admission; go to the personal-cook pasta bar, order 4 of them, wrap it to go, and leave without even seeing the track. Even paid another toll to get home. Honest! And I don't even like pasta - meat and potato guy. But that place there... great thanks to the fellow that talked me into trying it!!

I went to the horse races once or twice here in Houston many years ago. I honestly do not know if the track is still open. I did not know they had gourmet pasta.

Here's the trick I used, which I crafted while seeking the best buffet deal on a trip in Vegas: find the "heftiest" guy who looks like he works there, or works closeby. Just a random guy, but a sizable one. Ask him where he eats. At the track, such a guy said "the personal pasta bar." I said, are you kidding? Who likes that stuff??" But the system often works very well, ha ha, and thanks to random guy, I ate well the rest of my time in HOU.

I’m in AL but will be back in Dallas/Arlington for work in a month or two for a quick trip. No bike, but happy to connect and grab dinner. Flying into DFW but will likely hotel down in Arlington by the Rangers stadium.

Most big cities got places you can rent a motorcycle.....can you get your company to "upgrade" your rental car into a bike?
