Valve clearance adjustment
07/14/18 at 13:49:45

Hi guys just opened the engine on the last oil change to check the tensioner. My bike is a 93' with 28k km (bought directly from the first onwer for 600€).

I measured the tensioner and it's only 14.7mm out, but I hear some clicking noise after the bike is hot and I assume it just need some valve clearance adjust.

What is your opnion ? I'm taking it to shop to do the adjustment (don't have the time or space right now to do it myself), so I would appreciate a opnion before spending the money.

FvZ,
If you are knowledgeable enough to do what you have already done adjust the valves yourself. It is not a big deal just a bit fiddly.

Also, while you are at it put in Verslagen's cam chain tensioner mod.

Would do it myself, but don't have a garage nor the time to deal it with now.

1st time may take a couple of hours as you read, contemplate, observe, and do each step.
Then, after you've done it several times, it'll only take 15 minutes.
