Valve Spring Installed Height.

Does anyone know the installed height of a stock S40 valve spring? That would be the distance from the top of the steel spring seat to the bottom of the spring collar when the valve is closed. I appreciate any help you can provide.

I don't think that you will find those specs anywhere. I haven't seen it in any of the manuals yet, nor online.

Yes, I agree. I haven't been able to dig the info up in any sort of literature. I was hoping someone had an old head laying around with springs installed, and they could possibly measure the distance for me. Or possibly, someone had packed their springs on some prior build and kept records. I would hate to tear it apart just to take that measurement. And to think I had that open when I installed the DR cam and failed to measure the installed spring height. Man, I'm getting old.

33.49 from the top of the retainer to the top of the little cup it sits in.
1.38 from the top of the little cup to the spring seat.
1.77 from the top of the retainer to the valve seat.
the retainer has another seat for the inner spring. 3.78 from the top
± a mile.

So I think I understand. Installed height should be about 33.49-1.38-1.77 or 30.34 mm give or take say about .5 mm. A very big mahalo to you Verslagen.
Best regards, Mike

I appreciate the clarification but I want to make sure I have it right. Please forgive me for beating this dead horse. The 33.10 mm dimension is the installed spring height, dimension "A", Fig 2 on the sketch I have attached below (hope it works). I really appreciate your help.
