I've hesitated to involved myself in one of e d s threads, but the sentence above caught my eye.

I will bet you whatever amount of money you want if you show me consistent statements from Trump where he says 'every Mexican who tries to cross the border, no matter what, as a rapist, murderer or 'animal'. He's never said that and no one of consequence has said that. Who would? No one would believe that statement.

This is part of the Soft Civil War. Lying about absolute statements. To quote Star Wars; "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."

Now, there are absolutes to be sure. For example, it is an absolute certainty that Trump nor any member of Congress on either side every said or believes the statement above.
