Everything you knew about Chromebooks is wrong

Myth: Chromebooks don’t run apps. Fact: Chromebooks run more apps than any device ever.

New term "Supernet" =  the HUGE HUGE world of apps no other OS can get you to.

"New term "Supersecure" = Chrome OS inherently secure means of operating all these myrad world beating apps on the same device.

Google’s original slow, limited, browser-only, cloud-centric laptop platform is now the most powerful and capable user platform on the planet.

Yeah, I said it.      That's Computerworld, Mike Egan talking

Apple fans laugh at this idea, saying that a MacBook Pro can run the Chrome browser and gain all the benefits of a Chromebook, as well as all the benefits and leading-edge content-creation tools of a far more elegant, better designed and better engineered device.

Windows users carp that Chromebooks are cute, but not serious business tools. The Surface Book 2 is also a tiny laptop, they say, but a real computer.

Linux developers concede Chromebooks are interesting but argue they can’t be used for software development.

But these obsolete stereotypes are not compatible with the new reality of Chromebooks.

It’s time to clear up the top 10 myths that are no longer true about Chromebooks.

What follows is "in your face rebuttal" of Windows, Mac, and Linux fanboy favorite arguments because they flat no longer apply.

You need to stop and read the article.

Here's a key one for you -- the best most flexible and easiest to administer machine for Big Business to use is a .......
..... yep, it's a Chromebook.
It can also cost a lot less for doing a lot more.

Read the article -- key things have evolved in the last year, evolved a bunch ....

I also like the fact that kids are being educated by Public Schools to use Chromebooks which are now the Winning-est Best system for them to plan to be using going out into the future.

By being raised on Chromebooks now, they are getting Linux apps and Android apps by osmosis and Windows by exception -- they learn that Windows is a kludgy slow expensive out of date alternative system that gets systematically AVOIDED wherever possible for high cost reasons.

Take away for all the other groups is TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM and get equivalent before trying to charge a lot of extra money for your currently "not up to snuff" stuff.

This specifically INCLUDES everybody else that is needing to be using AI in a significant fashion, because Android and ChromeOS certainly do use it very well -- and the booster AI processors -- and the new fast non-volatile memory -- and the integration AI DynamIQ into the whole ARM microcosm.

Google is way way way out in front right now, just flat walking away from the rest.    And this isn't some "we plan to do out in the future" stuff --- it is already DONE and this realization is just now soaking into the US computer magazine's various writers and pundits.

Makes a bit of a joke out of Apple's plans to flat out replace Intel processors and makes a sad joke out of Microsoft's aborted plans to leave Intel at the curbside and jump on over to ARM.

Both of these large moves are now "overcome by events".   THIS is why Qualcomm dropped their 48 core ARM server chipset ideas, it was totally "overcome by events".

You got brand new pulses of AI change not coming from Google or ARM now, but now coming from Huawei and other major Chinese sources ---- their ability to steal other people's AI/Machine Learning tech and bring it into real production so very very very quickly is a force all by itself in the new computing reality.
