Missing front turn signal lens
05/25/18 at 07:21:28

Ready to go on a ride this morning, doing the TCLOCK check... the right hand side front turn signal lens is missing! Just the lens. Must have come off during my last ride, but how? I checked the others, and they are tight.  Does it mean I have to buy a whole turn signal, or can I just buy the lens?

Did you check the bottom of the housing? The screw can vibrate out since its on the bottom, then the lens can pop off. But to answer your question you can get just the lens.

Lens Part Number - 35630-38AA0
Screw Part Number - 35623-38AA0

Thanks for the information.  I just checked... No screw hole at the bottom of the turn signal housing. I have a 2015 S40.  I assume the turn signals with a screw to keep the lens in place are from an older model? The remaining three lenses on my S40 have the same number: Stanley P4434.

Weird. I'm stumped. One of the more seasoned owners may have reply. I looked at the microfiche for the 2015 and it shows the same part numbers I listed. But a search for 'Stanley P4434' does show similar looking turn signals.

I stand corrected. There is a screw, but it was still in place. I took it out, nothing is coming out? From the diagram, it seems the whole lens assembly is supposed to come out? What I cannot understand is why just the lens (the amber part) is missing. How could have it come lose?

JLC,
I just checked my bike and one of the front lenses was about to fall off!

Anyway, after a little trouble  I discovered that after removing the screw it is necessary to rotate the lens/reflector assembly to remove it.  I have just finished epoxying it back together. Whatever method Suzuki used to glue it in the first place isn't too good.

I would have been in the same boat as you if I hadn't looked. Smiley

I am glad my post helped! I wonder if there are more lenses ready to fall off?

I would guess that there are.

When you take off the old one it just clicks a little bit to unlock the tab at the top.

Norm ,you used epoxy to put the it back together? do you have light bulbs that last forever?
JLC, you most likely lost the lens ,because the screw was over tightened and cracked the lens ,vibration finished the job.

Also, the assembly is exactly the same as it was before.

Batman,
I simply re-glued the orange lens back on the reflector. It is an assembly and apparently is prone to come un-glued? I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of failures out there.

The only reference to this model turn signal is in late model owners manuals. Neither Suzuki's nor Clymer's shows anything like it.

Norm, went and looked at the 2015 s-40 pics ,the turn signals are completely different design from the early bikes,Sorry, didn't realize the change.
