Custom parts for Savage

Hello!

First of all, I am completely new to this forum of yours and I apologize if I post to wrong section.

During the coming weeks I will buy my very own Suzuki Savage (-94) and I would like to customize it a bit more. It already has handmade forward controls (I am quite tall) and Raask exhaust.

After googling around I found this pic posted by Kenny G, the handlebar and seat look absolutely stunning.

I would have sent directly a private message to Kenny but within the limit of 10 posts I can't. (Is it possible to tag an user?)

To the question, where from are these parts bought and does installing them require a lot of work? Could someone give a link?

I also found this pic where Bonneville's seat is put on a savage, looks stunning as well. I guess Bonneville's seat doesn't fit directly and on that pic it isn't mounted. Again, does it require a lot of work to mount it?

When it comes to the seat, there is only one after-market seat available. It's by Corbin. It looks great but it doesn't fix the problem most people have with the seat - wanting to move back a little.

You generally have three options: (1) Carve the foam and put the cover back on. (2) Modify the stock seat pan (you can move the rectifier from under the seat, and cut the bumps out of the pan, then reshape the foam) or, (3) by a seat off another bike (like a triumph) and modify it to fit.

I personally found option 2 to give the best 'bang for buck'. You can reuse the original seat cover if you don't change the shape of the foam too much. In the end, I got a cover made for $150AUD.

I think I will go with the option 3. I found one more pic where Triumph seat is installed with aluminium angles. I got all the materials needed for that and it looks very good imo.

Along with the seat I would like to change the stock buckhorn handlebar to a drag bar.

The standard drag bars get real close to the tank. They don't touch by normal force but if you kick the bike over the bar will leave a mark on the tank from impact on the ground.

That's a real nice seat! ... but they gotta do something about that muffler !!! Wink
