battery box

Hi,just bought a new battery and it won't go all the way into the battery box. The battery is about two mm taller than the old battery. I'm reluctant to take the big rubber hammer to it. Any suggestions. Jack

You may be able to remove some of the padding from the battery box. Otherwise you may be out of luck.

I had the exact same problem last week, bought a new AGM. However it *will* go in without removing the padding, it just requires a bit of finagling. Don't try to push it straight in, just get a bit in, then push the bottom edge down while pushing it forward a bit till you clear the top edge then rock the battery up and down while pushing it in, once the top an bottom is cleared, it just requires a bit of a firm hand to get it all the way in.
