As I recall, many moons ago when I owned an old 4 speed Savage, I was able to remove the float bowl in place, and then remove the pilot jet.  I think you might be able to simply remove the float bowl, clean it out, and also remove the pilot jet and clear any obstruction.  If it sat for a long time with gasohol in the tank it is likely to be gummed up in there.  The tiny pilot jets are prone to obstructions.  You should also check your oil level.  Is it too full?  If it is, the vacuum operated petcock has probably failed and is leaking by, dribbling fuel past the needle & seat into the intake and cylinder.  Then down past the rings into the crankcase.  Check that oil level.

To gain a little room, use a ratchet strap to pull back the battery box.
There's at room enough to drop the bowl.

And it easier to remove the carb with intake manifold.

So I have the carb out, took off the bowl. The pilot jet was clogged, all set now. I have a new problem, and I hope someone can help.
After putting the Carb. back in the bike, the throttle cable seems to short. I cant for the life of me figure out why. The stop screw wont touch the throttle cam even when screwed in all the way, it was not like this before.

It looks to me that the outer shield isn't fitting down into the little cylinder at the throttle plate on the carb, did you put the C camp in the slot , first, or not at all? If it's not fully seated it would make the cable seem shorter.

Its fully seated, The clip is in now, but not in the photo because I was removing and reinstalling it so many times.
