Lobbyist money....haha.

Look at this scratch from a liberal in Chitown:

The primary results in the Chicago-based district won’t affect control of the House, but it has widened the gap between the party’s activist base and the moderate, swing voters Democrats need to capture the chamber in November.

In the governor’s race, both party front-runners are hoping to beat back primary challengers on their right and left flanks. Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner is hoping to dispatch Jeanne Ives, a state legislator who’s argued the governor isn’t conservative enough, while Democratic billionaire J.B. Pritzker, who’s sunk $70 million into his bid, aims to clear the field of several liberal opponents.

70 mil folks, where did he get that sorta pocket change, selling dope and guns to bangers?

wow, just WOW..... results coming in presently.

Which is why I didn't vote for jb in the primary.

Unlimited money should not be allowed in politics.

How do you get it out?

What about a bias media who runs positive stuff on their candidate, and negative on the opposition?

A limited window to campaigning?

Wouldn't that favor the incumbents?

Um, it's not the media, it's the advertising.  If you stop the ads paid for by PACs and dark money, the only ones left that buy ad space are "normal" advertisers.

A limited window to campaigning?

Yes, that could be a part of it.

Wouldn't that favor the incumbents?

No, they would ALL be limited in the same way.  Imagine, an incumbent being judged by his/her job performance!

The media makes so much money off this system......

You try and change it, they come after you with false narratives, anonymous sources, etc.....

Too many addicted to the NEWS already, believe it as gospel.

You mean campaign reform, oh really......

Why do you think issues like this seem to never get solved?
I have been hearing about racism, campaign reform, immigration, taxes, etc, for decades, and yet?????

It goes directly to free speech, all of it, donations, media spin bought and sold, unions, etc....

You just can’t get away from it, not like atheists trying to stymie freedom of expression of religion, nope.
Some religious folk should be stopped, faith healers etc, I would nail them on a commerce charge....
Getting off point  Cheesy

I think a informed electorate is the only avenue to change.
That is why the internet is so very critical it not be controlled by any government regulations, etc.

I think we are starting to see it challenged, and this Russia crap plays right into it, we need to make sure our elections are not tampered with, and the predetermined Hillary wins, as she should, gotta keep the same game going, just mix up the players, a slight of hand, keep all them DUPES in the dark, and confusion in play through academia, media, etc....

Free speech, it was touted by communist, socialist, etc?, to be the downfall to democracy.
Without out a moral compass, absolutes, I think we are seeing it grow to a real threat on our democracy.
I think most of the blame lies within the executive branch and legislative, not respecting the absolute separation of the judicial.
It is paramount that we use the process as intended, or we are scripting our own failure of governing.

Ever notice the ease to which they pass legislation in that of which ensures, and empowers them more, while we just get seperated, divided, and lose even more day over our governing?

It will be ugly, lil’ Tweeter is just a very small glimpse, of what will happen, when the real revolution starts....
He was seen as the clown he is, wasn’t suppose to win.
They won’t willingly succumb to change, can’t name one governing power in history that has, can you?

I have been hearing about racism, campaign reform, immigration, taxes, etc, for decades, and yet?????

And yet, Lamb won in PA.  And yet, Vanessa Adia won in a TX primary.  And yet, Bernie got as far as he did.

If you give up before you start, then you have no room to complain.

No, individual donations are fine.  No union, no corporate, no dark and no PAC money.

You just can’t get away from it, not like atheists trying to stymie freedom of expression of religion, nope.

First off, that's not what an atheist wants.  Second, "can't" is the saddest four letter word.

Some religious folk should be stopped, faith healers etc, I would nail them on a commerce charge....

Agreed.

That is why the internet is so very critical it not be controlled by any government regulations, etc.

It's not, and it hasn't been since day one.  Now, however, that might change - but that's another thread.

???

Free speech, it was touted by communist, socialist, etc?, to be the downfall to democracy.

It was?  Where?  Not here.  Never here.

Without out a moral compass, absolutes, I think we are seeing it grow to a real threat on our democracy.

What? Socialism?  LOL, you think that's bad?  Let this spending continue and you'll be living in an oligarchy.

I think most of the blame lies within the executive branch and legislative, not respecting the absolute separation of the judicial.
It is paramount that we use the process as intended, or we are scripting our own failure of governing.

Somewhat agree.  However, at the local and state level is where real change is going to start.

Ever notice the ease to which they pass legislation in that of which ensures, and empowers them more, while we just get seperated, divided, and lose even more day over our governing?

Exactly why I posted what I did above.  True grassroots movements are needed.

It will be ugly, lil’ Tweeter is just a very small glimpse, of what will happen, when the real revolution starts....
He was seen as the clown he is, wasn’t suppose to win.
They won’t willingly succumb to change, can’t name one governing power in history that has, can you?

Um, yeah, several actually - it depends on what you qualify as change.  Many countries rewrite their  versions of constitutions around every change of power.  The UK doesn't even have a written constitution!

I think we agree with more than what we disagree with.

Example, and please consider this when you read a reply/response....

I never said socialism is 100% bad, evil, or wrong....
We have, and we should, adopt certain elements from it.

Having a toolbox full of tools, yet only using a few tools, trying to make it work, is just plain silly.

But, words like "socialism", like so many other topics, words like racism, sexist, etc, are used as a narrative to steer debate away from using all the tools, and only using the hammer to smash opposition to any given subject/matter.

How can we ever walk, and learn, in another mans shoes, if I am told its racist for me to put on a black mans shoes?
