My new face awaits, today......haha.

Will be leaving soon for HOPEFULLY my last surgery, on this dang cancer stuff.

I am sooooo ready, my face seems to be constantly "puckered" where they manipulated the skin.

But once again guys, if you have a spot on your skin that wasn't there before, and it doesn't go away after a few weeks, please, just go have a dermatologist look at it.
It is really a simple procedure if you treat it early.....

Here is the most common type, rarely fatal, unless, left untreated....
I have the basal cell carcinoma type.


Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are typically grouped together and called non-melanoma skin cancers, WebMD explains. Melanoma is the highly aggressive skin cancer that can be fatal if it is not detected and treated early; however, melanoma comprises a small fraction of skin cancer cases. Most skin cancers are basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. These non-melanoma cancers usually do not spread to different parts of the body, so they are rarely deadly. They can cause disfigurement if not diagnosed and treated early.

Yeah, as my pictures show ( I will spare you any more ) I have some disfigurement, because I waited too long in a very sensitive area, close to my eye.

However, I don't think I'm dead, not sure, I'll let you know if I am  

Sorry guys, not trying to be a pest or attention w-hore......

Just really, really, want to drive home this point of precaution BEFORE you have to act later....
Protect your exposed skin while riding (and at all time when out in sun exposure) with a quick spray or lotion of sun screen, you don't have to bath in it, or lather it on to the point of sticky, etc....

OK, I'm done, wish me luck, this face has sunk a thousand ships, that should be worth keeping, eh?

As soon as this hurdle is over, I am going for a complete body scan, hope they have can ready, and eyes closed....... ouch  

I had a Squamus cell patch on my upper cheek that was dug out a few years back.  Since then I've had many pre-cancerous areas treated ok my head and face, so far all has gone well with that.  After several attempts at the VA I had to go on the outside to get treatment because the VA hispital I use did not have a Dermetologist on staff.  Not all their fault since they have not been funded for one, BUT they should have made arrangements for me.  They dropped that one.  Anyway, I found a good clinic to take care of me.
It IS very important to get checked regularly. 😉

Raydawg, for what it's worth, your posts have got me thinking seriously about my sun protection routine - I wow lawns, among other things, for a living.
