I like the idea of separate fuses. I think Suzuki was just saving money with our two fuses.

Per, it all depends on your interpretation of the diagram.
There's not enough there to say it will or won't work.

And FYI, we have a 3 phase generator, not an alternator.
It has permanent magnets vs coils.
I know... it's semantics.

OK, at least is not a NO as the first one was, I feel this is progress on the right direction... Is there any specific information you would find useful that I can add so it makes more sense (this is the first time I make one of those).

I can't remember where I read it but someone suggested starting with a black and white copy of a stock diagram and then using colored pencils to color in the wires you want to keep.

I'm planning to strip out a stock harness to accomplish something close to what you are doing and though I have yet to try it but the coloring exercise helped me understand the diagram and function much better.

I've come to same the conclusion about the two fuses, one is for lights and one is for control of the decomp solenoid.  If you are deleting the decomp controls I believe you can delete one fuse.

1 should be for the ignition, the decomp controller is always hot.

Vercy ,I have an older copy of the Clymer book covering only the 86 to 88 Savage the wiring diagrams show a wire coming from the + of the battery to one end of a fuse and out the other and loops back to the same wire ,feeding nothing! and could well be the source of some confusion.( another mistake in Clymer's manuals ).

OK, the diagram on reply 17 is functional to the degree that it wants to turn over, turns slowly but struggles to produce a spark... I got a new battery and currently waiting for it to charge since it got drained and in the lower 11s during the testing period.
Pick up coil is at 211 resistance, spark coil is at 4.5... voltage coming from cdi when start bottom is pressed is about 11.5v

It has no problem turning with the crankcase cover off.

Moving in the right direction, but not %100 just yet.

For good measure, I'm going to replace the old gasoline with fresh one.

Any suggestions?

Be careful to replace the washers in the correct location or tightening down the cover will bind the gears.

Thanks!

Ok,
So it's now turning on, and running as if nothing happen...

The following diagram does work or at least it did for me, which really is all I need at this point... if you happen to find it using the search box, be mindful and use it at your own discretion, as I'm not an electrician and never until now have worked on motorcycles.

-Looking into the crankcase was the final touch need it, the washer was in the wrong place, thanks Verslangen1 for the note, if you didn't share that piece of knowledge, I would never figure it out.

Great,
However the diagram is missing a couple of points... how does power get to the CDI? Lighting circuit?
For the most part, it's a function diagram and doesn't address the details.

Power to CDI comes from cable that powers starter motor...

Lighting circuit is not accounted for, it was never an issue I needed help with, I saw no reason on including it.

Not sure what you mean when you say "it's a function diagram and doesn't address the details"... But don't need to know that, so we are good.

Either way, the bike is running now...  I'm not trying to create fake news, nor do want to insult anyone's intelligence or level of experience.
Hope someone finds the diagram useful, an starting point, or all around what not to do when approaching a simplify wiring harness... That's for each individual to determine.

Big thanks to Ruttly for the email with reference diagrams, kind approach and straight up willingness to help.

Also...  want to thank the academy, my manager, my producer and all my fans!!!
