Wiring diagram... LS650 2001.

Hi,
I'm currently having a no spark issue, recently I rewire the bike and remove the safety switches, but now the bike won't start.
the battery is fairly new... reads about 12.6v, new solenoid, new coil, new spark plug, new(used) CDI, new pickup coil, new startor, new negative wire to case.

All the lights do work.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Reply #1 - 01/26/18 at 07:47:59 Your circuit diagram is wrong You can't run the starter thru the fuse/key, it will burn out every time. And I don't understand the CDI/coil power.

Reply #4 - 01/26/18 at 08:09:46 That one looks almost correct. I doubt you have a 20 amp fuse going to a fuse block though. A stock savage has 2 20 amp fuses. Follow the power, confirm you have it at the CDI.

If you think it will be a good idea, at what point would you recommend I add it. Ones I get home I will check for power to CDI This is what it look before I made the mistake of thinking I knew what I was doing

Reply #7 - 01/26/18 at 08:51:30 Typically you have a 20 amp fuse for the lighting system and another for the ignition system. So if you only have 1, check the fuse. But I'm not going to be much help if the actual circuits don't match the diagram.

I see, The first diagram I posted is the diagram is the way that it is wire as of now...

Is there a diagram you will recommend I follow, as you can see I'm going for a bobber type of built... I'm anxious to be able to figure out the proper wiring since good weather is around the corner.

If you think that what I need is to start from the ground up, I will do just that, if rewiring and creating a new wiring harness is what it takes, I will do just that... will greatly appreciate it if you can direct me on a good starting point.

Reply #9 - 01/26/18 at 09:50:42 The second diagram is close to what I'd expect the circuit would be except for the 20 amp fuse. I like the idea of a fuse block with fuses for each circuit, just bear in mind the values are incorrect as pictured, the sum total is 60 amps.

Yes 40 amps is correct.
His circuit shows a fuse box with 6 10 amp fuses and the sum is 60 amps.
I don't know what each of the 6 circuits require and it should be look into.
The requirements for 6 separate circuits might be different than 2 circuits.
As the wire sizes may allow more or less current.

My intent was to make him aware of the difference, at least you are.
