Shop, Check Manufacturing Date, compare pricing, try one out.
Next time, maybe try the other.

I don't have many miles with them, but I'm currently running Shinko and I've been impressed with their cold weather performance. It's been sub 30 with ice on the road and they've been very responsive.

I got shinkos on mine but I'm going to try and get the Metzeler me888 on there just need to try and find the tires but I run shinkos on a lot of stuff in for the bang for the buck they do the job all bike tires seem to wear pretty quick just try and get their touring Tire on the bike and I'll be fine

Been using Shinko 712's  for 3 seasons and like them a lot. Good stick, not much wear yet after about 4500 miles. They track straight and feel solid in a corner. Usually don't ride when it's wet so I can't really speak to wet performance. What little I've done seems ok.

Shinko facts... Shinko is a Japanese company that purchased all the molds and technology from Yokohama Rubber Co. in 1998 when Yokohama got out of the motorcycle tire game. Shinko manufactures its tires in South Korea. In my estimation, Shinko is a “bang-for-the-buck” manufacturer. (Jul 15, 2014 , Revzilla)
