Rear Kawasaki Pulley Conversion
01/16/18 at 05:00:28

For those who want to be in an elite gearing group.....I am offering the parts needed to install a Kawasaki rear pulley on your Savage.  Currently there are only 2 people that run this setup - me and Badwolf.  This gearing is a bit high for a stock engine - but for a modified engine it provides wonderful gearing for cruising down the interstate.  High gear becomes an "overdrive", and I don't shift into high gear until I am over 60 mph.  MMRanch said he got up to 85mph in 3rd gear when he had the double Kawasaki pulley setup on his bike!  You must run a Kawasaki front pulley to use the rear - the belt is too long to run only the rear pulley.

If you already have a Kawasaki front pulley - the cost of the conversion kit is $350 shipped to the US.  It includes the modified rear pulley that has been powdercoated black, the flanges have been powdercoated silver and mounted with stainless screws, the pulley hub has been machined for the new offset, the mounting bolts are freshly plated.  The pulley hub includes a new premium grade bearing with both sides having a grease seal, and the pulley hub has been machined to include a brass bushing that prevents pulley wobble.  The shock bolt has a shorter head to provide clearance for the smaller diameter pulley.  This is a limited production item - I only have parts to make 2 kits....and I likely won't ever make any more unless they are a special order.  If you want to order a kit with both front and rear pulleys, the shipped price is $500.

I can discount the kit $30 if you don't want me to make the cover that goes over the bolt holes.  If you have saddlebags you won't ever see the holes so it doesn't make any difference (On my Cafe' bike the holes are visible and I made the cover).

Here is the bushing installed on the backside to eliminate pulley wobble.
