Can mount either side and vertical or horizontal and the lights are LED . Fairly bright and if you want the "stop" to show better just a little black paint and some time to.pull the lens out to paint the inside around the letters. Love mine and looks clean

I went with a Cat eye on my wife's custom to get rid of the big blocky stock one. Then modded the mount and added a custom over over the holes. It is all in my build thread starting about here
