Can I see your Rear End ?

Ok,
So now that you are reading this , it isn’t what you think .  Grin

I am trying to decide on a side mount  license plate holder and brake light or a bobber / chopper style tail light on the rear fender .

Would you mind sending a pic of the rear of your bike and your tail light / license plate holder setup ?

My son and I are building a bobber and using a trailer rear fender .

Thank you .

One of the nice things about using a side mounted plate on the left side is that it can help disguise the large offset in the shock that the belt requires.

Have you looked through the bike builds?  There are a lot of plate ideas there.

You could also go to the RYCA website and look at the customer build gallery ! Click on one you like and it opens to multiple pic of the bike.

Not sure how much law enforcement cares where you live but where I am sideways plates are not allowed.  I have one bike with a sideways plate and it gets pulled over for it.

I agree with Dave, a side mount helps make the back look more symmetrical.

My plate is on the left side....but it is not sideways  It is installed horizontal and the letters are upright - I  wanted to be able to ride in any state without being pulled over.

I will be home soon...and I will take a photo.

My rear end. Previous owner had no tail lights, a sideways mounted license plate and a single 1934 ford style tail light mounted above the plate. It was dim and couldn't be seen very well. I kept the plate mount, changed it to horizontal, and added an LED plate light. I also added deuce style run-turn-brake lights and an LED strip light "third brake light". What can I say, I like to be seen. I used the SuperBrightLEDs flasher unit with the signals.

I made a steel seat pan for my solo seat and integrated the turn/tail lights with a single 5-pin multi plug.  Most of the bike's wiring lives under the seat pan (there is an aluminum cover beneath it, making the void under the seat pan a protected little wiring area).

Here's the seat/light module on my bench. Comes off with 4 bolts (tank bolts and two rear bolts) and 3 plugs (tail light and the two rectifier plugs - the rectifier is also mounted on the back side).

Here is what I ended up doing.  I originally though about turning the plate sideways to allow it to be narrower - but I want to be able to ride in all states without any violations.
