Yes, it has the word "slave" in it...

Quote:
According to the historian Robin Blackburn, the words “the hireling and slave” allude to the fact that the British attackers had many ex-slaves in their ranks, who had been promised liberty and demanded to be placed in the battle line “where they might expect to meet their former masters”

get over it.

Stupid, headline grabbing move by the NAACP.

Don't get me wrong, what they fight for is legitimate, but this particular story comes out of the California contingent.  I personally think it's all hype.  Besides, the part of the poem/song they're talking about, probably 99.9% of the country doesn't even know it exists.

As an aside -
I always wondered - if they're supposed to be the watchdogs of racism, then why haven't they changed their moniker yet?  National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - sounds a little backwards to me.

So Versy, are we to get rid of literature too, if it has any offending remarks, etc?
Paintings?

Where do we stop?

Am I, as a registered Indian from a tribe, entitled to have all offending artifacts from the past that attest to how we were treated removed from museums, etc?

Should I not be the first in line to receive considerations and settlement, from the Anglo Saxon migration from Europe to America?

Can I expect those countries that sponsored these expeditions to compisate me?

Seems I should be the first in line, does it not?
