This is a cool video and could be useful for someone to use in a project - but I don't believe you should be making your own headlight reflector. (The reflector will not be parabolic and provide a useful light pattern).
It might work well for building the housings for gauges, air cleaners, etc.

Grease is a safe way to do this, if the shell cracks, it's not going anywhere.
But if you use air, you got a bomb.  Ask OF about dark side tires.

It would have been worthwhile to look up the elongation of the material and do a calc of how much you're going to stretch the material... circumference vs. straight across.  Can be as low as 10% or as high as 30%.  But fear not, annealing resets so you can do more.

I would have started with a bigger blank too.

On the slow ride to to my finish line, it's vids like these that make me question why I spent all of my working life in 'white collar' jobs.
Machinist/die maker is where I belonged, wasn't smart enough to recognize it.
Thanks guys, really.  The remaining time I have will be in the garage, or at vintage races! Cool
Cheers! Cool
