“…Ten years ago there were only five private prisons in the country, …  now, there are 100, …”

Hmmm,   wonder why the number went from 5, to 100, in the last 10 years.
It would be interesting to, see a chart, to see how many, were in the last  8 years !

(That is a bad thing. A POTUS, through minions, Gives those companies gobs of money.)

“… The supposition is that if you are charged with a crime, the suspect will plea bargain or the jury will follow the directions of the government and convict. …”

That's real simple.
Prosecutors, Plea bargain, if they have ANY, Inkling of a doubt of their case. Or even a Hint, of a Jury  giving acquittal.
It makes their record look  SO  Nice.  So, the, ’left over’ ones, are absolute, ‘slam dunks’.

The old Perry Mason, shows, the most incredulous thing, was NOT, him, getting a  ‘guilty’, statement  from a person in the gallery, or on the stand.  It was when  Buger, the  Prosecutor, would say:  “Well your Honer, we also, are interested in the, Truth”

(That would be a bad thing. When a  Prosecutor can stack up a  Impressive  record of, ‘Wins’,  [By, Disregarding the TRUTH,]  so they can in a couple of years leave, and get hired by a Defense firm, and instantly get 4 time the salary)

“…The goal of social rehabilitation is a quaint concept of another era. …”

Wait, so, ‘Teaching’  people,
To be responsible.
 To learn a Skill.
To be proud of their work.
Etc. Etc. Etc.    Is  NOT, rehabilitation ?

Do they get less hour?    Sure.
But who pays for their housing, food, health care?
And, OH,  they are in,  ‘prison’,  does the word, ‘Punishment’, come into this equation ?

(That would be a good thing)

Do these, Private  Prisons, turn a  Profit, and pay Taxes ?
Do the people working their pay Taxes ?
Does a,’License Plate’, company, that uses that labor, pay Taxes ?
As opposed to, YOUR, Taxes, paying for everything, to have people just sit around?

(That would be a good thing)

The Fed Gov, ‘Compensating’, wages of inmates, to the private prisoners.
The Fed Gov, literally, Guaranteeing, a Profit.  (so their buddies will,’Kick-Back’).
The,  NOT,  convicting people, of the likes of  H.R.C.
The, putting,’Whistle Blowers’, in jail.

(Those, would be a bad thing)

So their are good and bad, things.

Remove the last 4 things.
Now what have you?
A, Business, which, PAYS  Taxes, not, TAKES, Taxes.
A Business which Teaches, ‘Responsibility’.

A  VERY,  one sided, anti-incarsation, article, refers that the inmates are, sweatshop/slave labor.
Gee, were they just grabbed off the streets ?
Were they, ’sold’, in to the  sweatshop/slave labor ?
Or have they shown they cannot live, in today's society, (Perhaps no one taught them, how), and have committed a, ‘Crime’,  and are being, ‘Punished’.

Clean up the,  ‘Compensating’, wages of inmates. The, ’Kick-Back’s. The,  NOT,  convicting, (certain) people.  The, NOT, putting,’Whistle Blowers’, (or people of a different POV, to a,  ‘wanna be King’), in jail.

I would say, don’t throw out the Baby with the bath water.

Which is More TRUE, today, than yesterday.('06, S-40, Stock) well, mostly .
