My hat is off to whoever found that caliper would work on our bikes! Dave or whoever it was has done a great service! I was already running a 290mm rotor (rather than the stock 265mm) and noticed a improvement with the stock caliper. Yesterday I made a simple adapter and put on the 2 piston caliper and combined they WORK!!! Just trying it easy around the block it seemed better without even breaking-in the used pads that came with it, but when I grabbed a handful of front brake HARD at 25mph it locked up the tire!!! With 2 fingers now you can hear the front tire slip on the pavement. 3 fingers will now give me a panic stop brake effect in front! http://u.cubeupload.com/badwolf244/IMG0399small.jpg http://u.cubeupload.com/badwolf244/IMG0400small.jpg http://u.cubeupload.com/badwolf244/IMG0403small.jpg
Because of the bigger disc, that also is 3/16'' farther away from the fork leg, the 4 caliper bolts I needed don't interfere with each other. The spacer made from 3/16'' steel was pretty easy.
Anyone doing the conversion should be sure to get the banjo bolt with the 2 piston caliper, as it fits the stock brake line but the threads are different.
Anyone running a 80's cast wheel no longer has to get the solid rotor and turn it down.
If someone, (MMranch) wants to go even further, the caliper from a 04' Suzuki Bandit 1200 appears to mount the same way and is ''3 PISTONS!!!''

The mag wheel and disc shown is off of an '80's model Suzuki, but which model and year ?

LANCER, A lot of the 450 + 550 models in the early to mid 80's used the same wheel, a 19 x 1.85. If you look hard you can find a 19 x 2.15 and both came in tube type and tubeless. They match up with a 83' 550 ''L'' model rear that is a direct swap (same axle, brake, and drive hub pattern as the S-40) but is a 16 x 2.50 tubeless. I put one on with a Shinko 240 MT90 16(straight old school tread) with no clearance issues but I am running BOTH Kaw pulleys. If you run stock pulleys you MIGHT be ok, but if you are using just the Kaw front pulley you WILL rub on the swingarm.
