Help planning a trip
09/25/17 at 13:21:44

friday I leave with the mrs to leave southern nj to northern tip of skyline drive. I am trying to avoid just doing interstate roads and don't really care if I add a hour or 2 to the ride to have better ride out.

Anyone have any suggestions on which roads to take or which to avoid?  I have the option of either taking the cape May leers ferry or going over any bridge from nj to pa or de

The trip is staying in front royal a night then doing skyline drive and staying over again southern end then the drive back. I know you guys have done this drive any suggestions on things to do when not on the bike?

Your
Start position and destination aren't specific enough to decide a route
There's a Skyline Drive in loads of cities.
The South End of a State? C'mon.

North end of skyline drive. (Shenandoah national park ) is first night stay. When I say southern nj I mean the very tip southern nj cape May. I would have to take a ferry if I went further south which will put me in Lewes Delaware. Or go north to Delaware memorial bridge. My main goal is try try to avoid interstates and beltways around Washington and Baltimore

I'm leaning toward getting to us 50 and taking that as far west as needed then head south to front royal

I would avoid the DC metro area at all costs.  the Skyline drive is wonderful, you will really enjoy it.  Not much to do though.

Best regards,

Ain't the Skyline speed limit "Painfully Slow"  ?
