Ya, I know there's no way this is going to pass - HOWEVER - it steers the conversation back to what a single payer means and possibly gives the public option a real chance.

It'll make people think about how much they pay out of pocket and what they get in return under the current system.  It begins to make the case for healthcare as a right, not a privilege.
