Another new bike
09/02/17 at 07:58:36

So I picked up a Yamaha TRX850 a couple weeks ago. Really cheap and in great condition. Came with some nice mods, Gold Valves, R6 rear shock, R6 blue spot calipers, braided hoses and a rack. I'm planning a Neo-Café build like Dave's BCB 250 Ninja, but with an actual performance bike. Should be fun. Unfortunately, I've run out of room in my shed so something has to go. My wife said she'd be somewhat upset if I sold her Monster to make room for a track bike  Roll Eyes and the rest of mine are keepers. So it's time to let the mighty cabbage go to a new home, once I find a buyer anyway. I'm gonna miss it.

True, Justin  Wink. but it occurred to me the other day there's only so many bikes I can ride and look after, get to know and all that. I'm at 5, she has 3, we really are running out of space and need. And like she said, if I really can't live without it I can go buy another and do the build over. She's a good sport.

You remind me of the reality program 'rusted development' where 2 car customizers clear out a car hoarder's stock to build him 1 really nice dream car.  You really need 1 dream bike that includes everything you want in 1 bike!  Cool

That bike doesn't exist.
Two is the minimum to cover the bases.

I kind of feel sorry for those guys with one big dollar blinged out thing. I could live with just the one but I prefer variety. like Justin said, 2 bike minimum. a dirt and a road at least.

Yeah I feel for ya , I may have to thin the herd a little here in the near future. For me it's really hard , it's almost like trying to choose which child your going keep. But the RYCA stays it's way to much fun , not to mention I would never get back what I have into it , $$$$$.00
But when you can't buy what you want to ride , you have to build it !

'Dirt bikes' to me have always been an oxymoron. Dirt and mechanical devices should always be kept separate. Asphalt bikes have always been my passion! To each his own! Cool

With respect zipi, when motorcycling started, most roads were dirt, gravel or sand and things didn't improve much until the 1930's-'50's

It's a two bike minimum if dirt is left out.
A distance bike, that will run errands and get groceries, and a For Fun bike that you can't carry anyone or anything on.
Now, If you have a place and are so inclined, a dirt bike is a fine addition.

I know some don't feel this way but it is essential to learn to ride in the dirt. The skills you acquire in the dirt make you a much more skilled road rider. Learning to ride on a unstable surfaces such as dirt sand mud teaches skills that make you ready for the road such as water oil gas gravel sand leaves even snow or ice on the roadway. And it's fun !

Survey SAYS,
Dirt riding experienced riders fall down less. I know what it feels like to have a bike
Step  out
And that abdominal muscle and hip shove that pushes the seat in the direction of the slide is automatic.
It's saved my bacon a few times.
