Internet Neutrality
08/23/17 at 12:17:32

Anyone in the US have concerns about neutrality repeal?

Comcast in my area is the only broadband supplier, they own NBC so accessing other news/media could end up an additional charge.

 Basic internet $75
FOX news or CNN websites $3 each
 Youtube access $16.99
 Netflix $2.99

Suzukisavage website = didn't pay Comcast extra to be on the list, website access .99 monthly.

This sound like a potential outcome if we don't maintain the neutrality legislature?

Yes - it's of huge importance.

If NN is repealed, it could severely hurt the little guys - like suzukisavage.com.  What should concern the republican minded folks here is that MSNBC is owned by Comcast.  They could throttle fox news!!  They could throttle the blaze!!

A good rule of thumb is  - if a corporation loves the idea, chances are, they're the only ones who "win".

I do know the nuances involved in this subject, but to me it seems the Internet will be extremely hard to harness in as technology becomes more readily available and cheaper.
I wonder if this is just an attempt to get more revenue out of a system that is growing to big to control?

I imagine all sorts of prirate type of service will spring up, then of course we will preyed upon by threats of hacks, no security, etc.

It seems a one world argument will be advanced to say the internet needs to be secured

Nothing to argue with.
The thing is, when corporations want, the people lose. It's been a topic for a while. They eventually win. I say fight it until the corruption overcomes our voices.
Didn't take long for Nafta..

The issue I have is that we can write the FCC all we want but theres no elective process there so they can pretty much do what they want.

The only hope we have in my opinion is the big guys like Alphabet, Netflix etc. to lobby and push social media campaigns.  Half the people I talk to have no idea any of this is going on and they use the internet daily.

It's not the corporate Desire at fault
It's government corruption that designs the laws to benefit them.
I guess you work for free.
