Mine:
1. Still in production
2. improved cam chain tensioner
3. Trip Odometer
4. Flatter seat
5. 17" rear wheel
Feel free to add yours.  My guess it will not be available, or it will have fuel injection for emissions control. Cheers! Cool

Zipi, even if they did the dirty on us and stopped making them, I reckon you would still get a new one up to about 2020, certainly in my country they still seem to have new two year old ones. Then there's all the second hand ones with negligible mileage.
I somehow feel Suzuki won't be interested in your other wishes, sorry to be a cynic.

All the above are good but I would settle for a 16 inch rear wheel so I could have a bigger choice of tires.  I would also like to see the chrome plated covers over the valve cover re-styled to something like I have seen on the Tempter.  And a more durable timing chain and a front brake that at least looked a little more capable.  Oh, two more things, better rear shocks and slightly stiffer front fork springs.

Problem with this one is the small opening of the inner pipe.  Not sure why they chose such a small diameter!

Lower ratio 1st gear and a corresponding higher ratio 5th gear or a sixth gear.

How about the motor out of a DR650 and a 6th gear.

You would not need 6 gears, as long as 5th was a good overdrive.  The torque the engine produces nullifies the need for anything more that 5.
I would also like:
Good rear shocks
Upgraded forks like those done here
Same with the front brake upgrade
4-5 gal tank
Speedo & tach on bars
17" wheels front/rear
Redesigned head ... by a REAL engineer this time
Make the bike a Standard vs a Cruiser
...
...
... ?

Would love to see the head improved. No reason a 4 valve 650 can't rev to over 8 grand and make 45 HP.
The cruiser position never did anything for me. Love to see the bike as a standard or traditional cafe racer (think Thruxton R). 18 or 17" wheels.
Narrow the drive belt to 3/4 or 1"
Taller gearing.
Less agony/drama to yank the tank and work on the top end.
Alloy rims. Tubeless.
A real front brake.
Mechanical decompression system, ditch the solenoid.
Better forks.

alloy rims, tubeless!
http://www.bikesdoctor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/MV-Agusta-800-Dragster-...  Cool

In my personal fantasy, Suzuki sells me 100 DR650 engines, I contract with a frame designer for a 'standard' style frame with mid controls, and I end up with the bike of my dreams that I can sell to others with the similar passions !!! (and I don't go broke). Cheesy

ps: saw that dragster in Monterey last month at the Superbike races, young lady that was riding it couldn't have weighed more than 100 lbs. Living the dream!

For some of you, this exercise proves that you actually didn't want a Savage at all!   (I'm in that camp.)

The truth is, this bike is a cheap cruiser. Things like better shocks, taller fifth gear, are legitimate wish lists items for THIS bike.   When your list gets much longer, it tells me that you didn't buy this bike because you wanted a Savage.

Different size wheels (beyond a 16" rear), mags, seating positions, higher performance engine components, different shocks and forks, etc...you're getting into a whole new bike.

That is what is so unique to this bike on this forum.  Some of us like the bike as a cruiser and some of us bought it with every intention of changing everything about it!   We are asking this little cruiser to be a cafe racer, a scrambler, a standard, a touring machine...

Seems like Suzuki could profit a bit by researching this site a little.   Keep the little cruiser and put out a thumping Temtper'ish standard that offers a little more performance.  Smiley
