"TECH-AIR™ RACE SYSTEM
The result of over a decade of development in MotoGP and following on from Alpinestars’ first-generation racing airbag system and the launch of the ground-breaking Tech-Air™ Street, this latest version of Alpinestars Tech-Air™ technology brings full upper body protection to serious track day and performance riders. Sold separately and compatible with the new GP Pro Leather Suit, the Tech-Air™ Race is completely self-contained, meaning there are no bike-to-rider set-up configurations required, which ensures the ultimate in convenience, freedom and versatility. When fully inflated, the system’s airbag offers critical protection to the back, kidneys, chest and shoulders. Plus, with a simple upgrade the versatile system firmware, the Race system can be configured to run the Tech-Air™ Street setting for non-race use in road and off-road situations.

I was thinking it would blow up like the Stay Puff marshmallow man, but I was wrong. That would probably make you bounce down the road and make matters worse.

The comments by the guy in the article said when it inflated it was an instantaneous impact on his entire body.
"Tremendous pressure pushes on my chest, shoulders, ribs, kidneys, and back.  It's not a pleasant sensation, but in a real accident, it's a pain I'd be happy to feel."

It all happens in 25 milliseconds... BANG !

I ride on occasion with a guy that has the MLV vest.  He says it works quite well!   I think he has tested it at least twice!  Roll Eyes  That's him on the left.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Here is an example of his riding style.  This is before he got the vest.

Protects the part that rarely gets hurt... torso.

Face, head, legs, arms, hands, feet... might even be more vulnerable...  harder to tuck n' roll...

The tech-air expands under the suit compressing the rider.
Sounds like that could get uncomfortable real quick and any cries for help end up being a high pitched squeaky voice.
And I don't want to wear a suit every time I get on a bike.

Yeah, might be better to just slow the blank down and get some skills.   These guys ever hear of track days?  Obviously, I don't think much of the sportbike scene.  Bunch of douchebags in my book.  If you want to race, the go to the track.  Roads are for riding.

You might think of being thrown clear of the bike and landing face down and deployment of air bag throwing you back in the air only to land again without it possibly causing you to roll rather than sliding breaking arms & legs , I would rather just slide !

The airbag (the one that guy I know uses) has a lanyard that attaches to the bike.  It deploys as soon as you leave the bike.   Of course, you may not leave the bike until you are already sliding along the pavement..   You may not leave the bike at all!!!

Sliding is one thing but an impact is diff-er-ent.
There is no tuck and roll or any other action you may think you would like to do.  In that 1/100th of a second, or even less, you cannot do squat.
Open impact your body is flung like a rag doll, you are totally out of control of yourself.  You may or may not wake up after your broken body comes to an abrupt halt when you hit the ground.
