Boredom II, the sequel

So, I finished up the base for the motor stand. Just need to clean up a few welds I rushed through and rattle can some primer and paint.
Have some ideas for a way to hold the case half horizontal to assemble the bottom end. That'll be next.

Now it needs a electric motor to make it rotate maybe a gearbox to rotate it at different speeds and solar powered ! Looks beefy enough for a car engine !

Funny my engine stand was just using the 2 long front foot peg bolts in the bottom 2 holes. Push them half way in and it holds like a champ. Didn't fall over once when assembling the top end.  Cool

A photo-tour of the shop would be nice.

Armen, But reinventing the wheel seems like a hugh waist of time. My dad was a mechanical engineer and always wanted to reinvent the wheel for simple things to prove he could.  Roll Eyes

Are the wheels on your car marble or granite?

The wheels are aluminum alloy and the tires are Dunlop. I think they are made of synthetic rubber. D'oh!  Roll Eyes

And it took Michaelangelo  4 years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. If he'd used a roller he could have been done in a few weeks.

Sometimes its about taking time to make something nice just because it is nice.

A rudimentary stand for cam chain or head work isn't the same as one that would make loading the transmission guts in a side.

That wouldn't work for loading transmission guts. It appears to hold the entire case in place after assembly.

The half case should be easy , a plate cut out to the shape of case with 1" tall pegs at lower 4 motor mount bolts. Simple lay the left case on first , install crank, counter balancer & trans , then right case. Then into your other mount. Simple no bolts , just use that free and abundant Gravity !
Might need some spacers I'm not sure if all the mount are the same width.
