I rode her.....
07/16/17 at 18:46:41

She has been setting a week, looking at me, wondering, WTF!

I hopped on her this afternoon to keep her loose.
It felt good.
I have this sneaky feeling I might be having a discussion with my wife, after I retire.
I mean, just in case, it could prove a useful thing for errands  Grin

Ray:

I suppose that your wife would understand that until the bikes sells, you "need" to ride the bike once in a while to keep the battery charged and the fuel fresh.

It is also not unreasonable to expect to get top dollar for your bike, as it is well loved and appreciated......I would think $8,000 would not be a good number to start with! Wink

Dave makes a good point.. a Very good point indeed.
In fact, you MIGHT have to take it to a few bike events and park it with a For Sale sign on it,  you know, let people See it, up close,
Imagine how happy she'll be when you sell it for $6,995.00.
Yeah, I can see it now.

Great idea Dave.....

My wife is, uh, shall we say, frugal.
At 1800 bucks or so, that would be giving it away honey, they'd be laughing at us.
We must get what it is really worth, to me, that would be the prudent thing, after all   Grin

Hey, Ray! I'm another Pacific Northwester, and with 29 days of warm, sunny, dry weather (and still counting) you got to do what you got to do (i.e., RIDE). The cold, rainy weather will return. It always does. Then the bike can sit. And, as it is with me (us), once you both retire, she will be glad to have you out of the house for a few hours each day! I use the excuse to "run errands". Works every time. She's scared to death of motorcycles, but rides a road bicycle every day. In the last few years we've had several close friends hit on bicycles, 3 severely injured, 2 killed. 0 (zero) for the same period on motorcycles. Go Figure.

Out here on the island I know it's summer when tourists bikers think they own the road.
On most roads, there really isn't a shoulder....
They will ride two abreast as if they think no one is around.
This is even on blind turns!
I have almost hit some, and I have seen folks hit.
I have no idea what they are thinking, maybe that's a good thing 😋

Maybe you should de-sewing-machine your bike and get a HD muffler.

Or do they sell a "tourist whistle"?

Them Church Ladies ain't much for taking a spin-around-the-block .   Besides , I'd be in all kind of trouble when I got home if I even offered.   Roll Eyes

But ,  I just can't understand how a person who has had the "Handle-Bars" in their hands could ever do with-out a bike for long .   I've seen guys play the "Bigger is Better" thing --- then get scared of the Munster they got and trike it out .

Some day I might find myself on a 125cc street bike if the Savage gets to heavy.  Heck , I had a GN125 for my Wife / Son to learn on (they never did) but it would run 65 mph on top end and cruse at 50/55 on flat ground just fine.  Wink

One of the couples in our church got themselves a pair of scooter , and they go all over the back-roads around here.

When I was planning to buy a Savage (my first motorcycle) I told
my wife that I would love to have her learn to ride with me.
She agreed, so we bought a scooter for her at the same time.
We both attended the basic rider's course and learned how to
ride at the young ages of 64 and 65. We've enjoyed many hours
riding together in our retirement.  I don't mind riding my Savage
at scooter speeds when it means that my bride is with me.
