Folks, I work with these aircraft, it is NOT a toy.
At throttle up, and rolling, that force is pushing at pretty much max to get the beast to go in the right direction.....

Its like you have a high pressure nozzle on your hose.
If you hold it steady and aim at a target, that is max force, if you are using the same water pressure, volume, etc, but now run forward, away from that target, the force is only max, on that stationary target, for a mere second.

Guess what is going to give in first?

Yep sirene, you don't mess around with aircrafts jet exhaust.
Talk to anyone who has worked the deck of an aircraft carrier, and they will tell you it can kill you.

When I was young and foolish, a few of us went out to the end of the runway at Tulsa International, crawled through the fence and laid down on the approach end of the runway until a jet came in for a landing.
It was quite the RUSH !

Then the airport security showed up so we exited the area promptly.

Ahh, so what. Someone gets killed having a bit of stupid fun. Happens all the time. If it were insanely risky, the viewing area would have been shut down years ago. It's just one of those things. Sometimes people get killed doing the most mundane things and it can't be helped. I don't want anyone to imagine I think it's funny that someone died, but that place is visited by 10's of thousand s of people a year, nearly all of whom get away with it. My mate will be there next week for that very activity. When he gets home, I'll ask him if he got killed.Last time I looked, all of us here are engaged in something considerably more risky than watching aeroplanes land.

Thanks, I never would say that. I do my own things at my own risk and I don't need anyone looking over my shoulder to tell me not to do that (not usually, anyway). I suspect most people feel the same way. It's all good.
