If I pull the "choke" out 1 notch it wants to stumble and die, but not always. I switched to a Raptor with no luck fixing the problem. No fuel filter to cause any headaches either.
I took the carb apart thinking it was running rich. At least to my untrained brain it "feels" rich. Maybe it's running lean? The only thing that looks out of place are the wear marks on the slide and the slide bore. Sometimes it feels as if there's too much friction pushing the slide up by hand. Sometimes it feels fine. It does fall back to it's resting position every time though.
You didn't mention what jets you're currently using.
What exhaust/intake?
Those wear marks I have too.
I would limit polishing to the carb body.
You shouldn't have to worry about direction with 1000 paper.
Anything you do to the slide just removes the drylube.
