On our build we did away with the stock mounts completely. Also as we changed the subframe the old tank would not have fit anyways. When we fitted our DT175 gas tank I came up with simplistic but effective mounts. Make them strong, but not to where it becomes a "pain" to have to remove the tank. There are a ton of great ideas out there for sure!

Also, if you haven't checked first, make sure your timing chain tensioner is good to go!! You can do all this work to have a nice looking paper weight
