Whenever I take a big ride and turn the engine off, the pipe makes a loud bang noise, is it a big problem or nah?

That's a common issue. It's not great but it's not a real big deal. And you Can calm it down. Eventually it's going to be hard on the muffler guts.
Plenty of tuning tips to help you out.
Someone will toss a link up, I'm not the guy..

There are a few things that need covered and I'm not up for it right now. It's been done many times and someone who is good at finding stuff will surely pop a link up.
I don't want to reinvent the wheel today.

You can sometimes tame it just by letting the engine idle for 5 or 10 seconds before shutting off.

It's better to have your carb adjusted for running well, rather than what happens when you shut off...

Want the short form? let it idle for a few seconds ,then pull out the choke just before hitting the kill switch.

Try setting the air/fuel mix screw to it's best setting and see if that helps. It completely eliminated the shutdown pop for me and that was when it had the factory jets. Even with richer jets now it still doesn't make any shutdown noise.

This.

Don't use a work around.
Tune the carb.

Isn't tuning the carb a "work-around?"

No, tuning the carb to eliminate pops would be a work around which is why I stated tune the carb to it's best setting, which simply means the setting that give the highest idle speed, as per Lancer's tuning instructions. I found that when the carb was set to give the best running performance that the shutdown pop disappeared by itself. Others may have different experiences due to local conditions but in my case the shutdown pop elimination was a side effect of tuning the carb correctly.

I agree with what you suggest:  readjusting the carb., but ...

these bikes were "tuned" to run lean from the factory, and that is why the plug covering the idle mixture screw.  They don't want us to "tune" the carb.  So...it would be considered a "work-around" to them.

However, go for tuning - that's what I did, and I will, in the near future, actually raise the jet needle a tad to see if I can get better running in the lower 1/8th of throttle.
