Raptor fuel petcock

Well after procrastinating for nearly 2 +weeks, I installed the yamaha petcock this morning! It works great, as Ya'll claimed, a bolt in swap! How much easier the tank installs now also! Hardly any miles with it on YET. I'll see if it acts any different. Definately a wise replacement!!

I never had a problem with the standard petcock regarding installing the tank I found the hardest part was trying to blindly feel when the two rubber circular bits were mating with the tank.

Not sure why - but on some bikes you can get the tank off with the stock petcock still bolted to the tank......and on some it is impossible as the petcock won't clear the frame tube.  On my 2007 it was impossible to get the tank off without removing the vacuum petcock first.

[quote author=565A5F5652505E48565E58533B0 link=1497240092/0#3 date=1497269007]My tank would come off, and go back on without unbolt ing stock fuel petcock. But as stated, the 2 bolts at the rear of tank were a donaker to get lined up.
Now the tank goes on smooth and easy.
While I had the tank off I replaced the speedo light bulb while I was there

There are wide manufacturing tolerances on the S40. I never had a problem removing/installing the tank with the stock petcock.

I hadda lift the rear of the tank till the petcock hit the frame, then slap the tank and lift. The Raptor is just better..

Same story on the 03 I bought for my wife. Raptor was one of the first things I did to it. Tank now goes on/off so much nicer.  Grin

I can tell you EXACTLY what it feels like to get hit by a truck. I do not recommend anyone try it themselves.
